RE: Persona (Series) | P3R Episode Aigis – The Answer Revealed - Moonface - Mar 9th, 2024 I'm trying to wrap my head around this reasoning given in a recent interview about why The Answer ended up being DLC:
![]() RE: Persona (Series) | P3R Episode Aigis – The Answer Revealed - Maniakkid25 - Mar 9th, 2024 Atlus is owned by Sega, so technically even self-published titles have to go up that chain, potentially, and Sega has done some silly s*** over the years. But yeah, I'm pissed it wasn't part of launch, and I'm secondly pissed that I have to wait until SEPTEMBER to get The Ending! They'll probably charge 30 bucks for it, too; just watch. I'm starting to be really glad I hard passed on this version. RE: Persona (Series) | P3R Episode Aigis – The Answer Revealed - Moonface - Mar 9th, 2024 (Mar 9th, 2024, 01:11 AM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:Ah, I forgot about that. I just looked up P3R on Wikipedia to see who the developer and publisher was and didn't consider anything higher in the chain when I saw the same names on both. ![]() Also, assuming The Ending and The Answer are one and the same (I tried using Google to find out but looking up "persona 3 the ending" just gives me stuff about any ending for that game lol) then it costs $34.99 (the price of the P3R Expansion Pass). Looking back at the contents of the EP it's clear most of the price is for Wave 3 because nothing about the first two waves even warrants more than $10. ![]() RE: Persona (Series) | P3R Episode Aigis – The Answer Revealed - Maniakkid25 - Mar 9th, 2024 Sorry, confusion. I was just calling it "The Ending" because it seemed like a proper title for it. Yeah, I class The Answer as the ending of P3. And I undershot the price tag, what a shock. I'm sorry, but this is such a raw deal for anyone who is a fan of the original game. RE: Persona (Series) | P3R Episode Aigis – The Answer Revealed - Dragon Lord - Mar 9th, 2024 (Mar 9th, 2024, 01:22 AM)Moonface Wrote: Yeah, this is the thing that is most wild about it. You have to buy the entire expansion pass to get The Answer, bringing the total to make the game "complete" up to $105 + tax (depending on where you live). Now I'm just waiting for them to announce Female MC/P3P content as another $50+ paid DLC. RE: Persona (Series) | P3R Episode Aigis – The Answer Revealed - Moonface - Apr 7th, 2024 (Mar 9th, 2024, 03:57 AM)Dragon Lord Wrote:Judging by the developer comments saying that it's too much time/effort to do a female protagonist for P3R, I won't be surprised to see Atlus make it an exclusive for a P3R re-release at some point to try and encourage double-dipping. Thinking of that term now, I bet that's why The Answer is tied into such an expensive DLC; in the past you'd have to buy another copy of the game to get that but because they can do it as a DLC add-on to the base game with digital downloads they're just shifting the price over to the DLC instead to minimize the revenue loss or something. ![]() Persona 3: Aigis The First Mission Announced for G-Mode+ Archives Release - Moonface - Apr 19th, 2024 Persona 3: Aigis The First Mission Announced for G-Mode+ Archives Release G-Mode has announced that they will be releasing Persona 3: Aigis The First Mission as part of their G-Mode+ Archives collection. The game will be released on Steam and Nintendo Switch in Japanese, but no release date has been given yet. Aigis The First Mission was originally released for Japanese phones in 2007 and serves as a prequel to Persona 3. Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2850150/GMODE_3__THE_FIRST_MISSION/ If I'm getting this right, this game has never seen a release outside of Japan and was probably a bastard to get a hold of considering it was a phone game released in 2007. I'm not sure why they'd bother to release an untranslated game onto the Switch when it's going to be far better for people to buy the Steam version and grab the inevitable translation mod, but at least it's another platform to help preserve the game. RE: Persona (Series) | P3 Aigis The First Answer Port Announced - Moonface - Jun 8th, 2025 Persona 4 Revival | Reveal Trailer A remake of Persona 4 has been revealed at today's Xbox Games Showcase presentation: I know nothing about Persona really, so for anyone who does, is there anything about P4 you hope gets improved/changed with this remake? RE: Persona (Series) | Persona 4 Remake Revealed - Maniakkid25 - Jun 8th, 2025 As I mention in the showcase thread, I think that this remake makes no sense to exist. It's just weird that they decided to do this. If they change anything, I hope its the early game difficulty. Persona 4 has really hard bosses to start with, to the point that they had to ADD a weakness to one of them in Golden. I know SMT games are hard, but I think they could do with toning it down just a little bit. RE: Persona (Series) | Persona 4 Remake Revealed - Moonface - Jun 8th, 2025 Bringing this here because it just makes sense... (Jun 8th, 2025, 08:38 PM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:I would say it's an easy way for Atlus to make money off of P4 again, but I didn't know it isn't like P3 where the content was never fully combined until P3R was made. I imagine Atlus are going to have to add a lot of new content to P4R to encourage people to buy that over P4G, especially when I expect P4R to be $70 and wouldn't be surprised for Atlus to try and shoot for $80. I think I recall Atlus saying that P3R was an opportunity for new fans to get into the series, but any new fans that game did make probably bought or would buy P4G. ![]() RE: Persona (Series) | Persona 4 Remake Revealed - Maniakkid25 - Jun 8th, 2025 Thank you for quoting that post for me; I didn't wanna quote a post I had made literally 4 minutes before the one I made in this topic. A friend of mine commented about the P4 Anime when I brought it to their attention, and I had to tell them that anime was nearly 15 years old at that point, so no matter how you slice it, Sega is making a baffling decision by having Atlus remake this game. Personally, I'd rather see them remake Persona 2 a second time, and actually release both games on the same platform for non-Japanese audiences! Because we still don't have a complete duology of Persona 2 on the same platform! We have Eternal Punishment on the PSX, and Innocent Sin on the PSP. WTF, Atlus?! RE: Persona (Series) | Persona 4 Remake Revealed - Moonface - Jun 9th, 2025 (Jun 8th, 2025, 10:22 PM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:I didn't even know Persona had an anime ever, so unless the events of it are fully put into P4R I'd wonder how much of it could be used and not be missing context for the people who didn't watch the anime. ![]() (Jun 8th, 2025, 10:22 PM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:Hopefully they decide to tackle the older games after this one, unless they just opt to not do anymore remakes. There's no way that can do a remake of P5, it's nowhere near old enough to warrant such a thing. ![]() RE: Persona (Series) | Persona 4 Remake Revealed - Maniakkid25 - Jun 9th, 2025 The Anime was just a rehash of events in the game; it didn't really add anything new to the table. Don't get me wrong; it's good. You just aren't missing anything from the story if you haven't watched it, but played the game. RE: Persona (Series) | Persona 4 Remake Revealed - Moonface - Jun 21st, 2025 Dang, so it doesn't surprise me given how the trailer was, but a Sega fiscal report indicates that Persona 4 Revival won't release until after at least April 2026. I guess it isn't that far out but I know there were leaks for P4R so I'm wondering if that trailer was put out in response to that and if the announcement would've come later instead of when it did. ![]() |
