I'll probably pick Chickorita, but with my being able to bring Pokémon over from HOME I should end up with all three as my starter so it won't matter. lol
In that case, do you already have a team line-up in mind or do you intend to use anything in this game that you don't have in Home or by some slim chance might actually be a new Pokémon entirely?

Pokémon Legends: Z-A | Nintendo Direct Trailer
Pokémon Battle Royale baybeee! Wow

Interesting approach to having a progression system for this game that isn't gyms, which I realize now weren't going to be remotely possible to do for this game now that I think about it. LOL
The battle royale at night thing just made me think of The Purge but if it involved trainers and Pokémon. "For 24 hours, all crime is legal, including kidnapping and capturing owned Pokémon."  Suffer

Unfortunately not shown in the trailer though in that park sort of area there were two trainers, but I kinda hope in the Z-A Royale it's possible to battle multiple trainers at once. Although I'm getting the feeling it'll just be 1v1 only, but a 1v1v1 and trying to fend off two at once while they are doing the same would be cool. Perhaps that might happen in higher ranks, but ah still doubt so just stronger trainers up there. Also what will happen once at A rank I wonder, but that's to find out in game I guess.

Usually, it depends on the game. If there are Pokémon I can catch in Z-A, I can't in another game I'll just catch it there. Sometimes if I want all the starters I'll end up getting them from mutual friends or using HOME. It just depends on how quickly I can get the starters, usually HOME is locked for at least a month when a new game is launched. So we'll see is my take. lol

This idea sounds cool, but the big problem I'd see is how to balance such fights to avoid them turning into 2v1 situations, or becoming a Mexican standoff where P1 (player) targets T1 (trainer), T1 targets T2 (second trainer), and T2 targets P1 and the best approach a player could take in that scenario is to actually target T2 because T1 is also going after T2 so it removes that threat to the player fastest, which then puts us back at the 2v1 situation.
I won't be surprised if a mod has actually tackled this idea before though and possibly found a way to make it work without being too unbalanced. I did try looking but had no luck because I can't figure out what search terms to use without just getting results for double/triple battles. Hmm

RE: Pokémon Legends: Z-A | New Mega's and DLC Announced - queenzelda - Sep 17th, 2025

I actually haven't preordered this game yet, and after finding out that a lot of the mega stones are locked behind a vs online mechanic, perhaps having to be stuck in just Lumiose City... I've decided to not get Legends Z-A. Pokémon X/Y's Karlos region is a lot bigger than just 1 city. <_< I also don't appreciate having dlc announced as just outfits, and maybe story dlc? A lot of my trouble with it is how bad the city looks; the towers just look bland and blocky. No going back to the gyms, just fighting against npcs going up the levels like with the end of the anime where Ash had to battle his way to the top. Na thanks I'm good skipping that b.s. <_<

RE: Pokémon Legends: Z-A | New Mega's and DLC Announced - shadow - Oct 17th, 2025

I actually bought Pokémon legends z-a through Amazon at 1pm on the 16th but somehow technically ended up getting the free item codes that came with the pre-order. I bought the switch version though I do own a switch 2, I wasn't dishing out extra cash for the gfx upgrade. It'll be in my grubby hands sometime tomorrow where I plan to shiny hunt everything when I hear the notification go off. 😆
