RE: Universal Chat Thread - Moonface - Feb 10th, 2026 I absolutely despite the cookies thing. Browsers have always had the option to disable cookies and should've been enough, and if anything I'd rather the rule had been that whenever you open a browser for the first time post rule implementation, it opens a page showing you the setting so you can choose whether to turn it off or not. At least then it wouldn't have to be something you see every time you visit a website for the first time. Now if it were up to me I wouldn't have any such rule period; it's not like cookies are a bad thing.
RE: Universal Chat Thread - azalea - Feb 18th, 2026 hello, UG! it's been quite a while, hasn't it? life has just been lifeing for me and it (even to this day!) has kept me quite busy. @_@ RE: Universal Chat Thread - ShiraNoMai - Feb 22nd, 2026 Life is indeed life-ing, that's a big mood. Glad to see you pop in again, though
RE: Universal Chat Thread - Moonface - Feb 24th, 2026 (Feb 10th, 2026, 12:05 AM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:So Discord has come out and said they're delaying the age verification rollout until the second half of the year following the response that initial announcement got. I don't really have any thoughts on it right now but wanted to at least share this. RE: Universal Chat Thread - Maniakkid25 - Feb 25th, 2026 Yeah, after the Persona Leak, they pretty much had to try and save face (heh) given the number of people that are dropping off the platform like flies. If you somehow don't know, Persona is one of the verification vendors Discord was "experimenting" with in the UK, and they had a massive database leak because the idiots left their servers on the open internet for just anyone to access! This proved that Persona was legitimately setting up a gigantic surveillance network with their face ID images by sending them to governments, and using them to track key information about you. Reality needs better writers, man; if you tried to pull this shit in a story, people would call you out for being ridiculous! RE: Universal Chat Thread - Moonface - Mar 1st, 2026 (Feb 25th, 2026, 02:07 AM)Maniakkid25 Wrote:I thought this was the same one I linked to earlier, but nope, there's just yet another case of a company that is supposed to be trusted with ID verification just being utterly incompetent at security. I was going to say maybe they're just doomed to be targeted because of the information they're holding, but I'm sure banks are a prime target for breaches too and clearly they have their shit together considering we don't hear of those being breached as often as these ID companies seemingly are.
RE: Universal Chat Thread - Maniakkid25 - Mar 14th, 2026 So, I was on the Square Enix Merch Store, doing completely normal things, when I found out something that surprised me. Now, you probably know that Square Enix has a figurine of Cloud in his Wall Market dress. That's not exactly surprising. What did surprise me is that they have TWO! The difference is that the first one is just a static figurine, and is slightly larger, while the second one is smaller, but is poseable and comes with extra pieces. ...Yes, I bought one. Yes, it was the reason I went on the store. I was still surprised! Also, I bought the static one; the poseable one is on sale as I make this post, but the extra pieces just seem easy to lose, so I didn't wanna bother. It's a good thing my tax return was over $1900, because FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK did that final price after shipping hurt! Also, completely unrelated: there is Atlus and Bandai Namco merch on the Square Enix store. Yeah, I was confused, too. RE: Universal Chat Thread - Moonface - Mar 15th, 2026 I actually didn't know SE had either of those Cloud figures, but it doesn't surprise me to know they exist. Between the two I actually prefer the static one, just because I've never been a big fan of the obvious hinges on poseable figures. I understand it isn't avoidable, but it somehow feels cheaper visually than a static figure does? ![]() Also, gotta love that it's 2:22am, I have work at 5am, and I tried going to bed at 11pm and gave up just before 1am because I couldn't get to sleep. Even now, I'm not tired and I bet it hits me at like 4:10am when I'd normally get up to get ready for work, because of course it will. ![]() Makes me glad I never changed my availability after graduation so I still get scheduled 5-6 hour shifts. It would really suck if I had to work an 8-9 hour shift instead, unless somehow I'm still not tired in a few hours from now. |
