Summer Game Fest 2026 Summary - Moonface - Jun 5th, 2026 Summer Game Fest 2026 | Summary Here's everything that was shown during today's Summer Game Fest presentation:
RE: Summer Game Fest 2026 Summary - Maniakkid25 - Jun 6th, 2026 EY, Code Veronica remake that's been speculated on for about a year now. Nice, nice, fan favorite and all that. Wonder what they're gonna do with Steve Burnside? Monster Hunter Wilds expansion finally announced? Sweet! Can't wait for it! The Wolf Among Us 2; now THERE'S a game I never expected to make it out of the abyss after TellTale fell apart. I'll reserve judgment until I the actual game, though. 1666 Amsterdam sounds like an interesting concept. Not a big fan of it being an Assassin's Creed spiritual successor, but I'm willing to be proven wrong. Sorry, that's all I got. My excitement was spent on the State of Play after Gitaroo Man got announced as a Playstation Classic. RE: Summer Game Fest 2026 Summary - Dragon Lord - Jun 6th, 2026 Not really a whole lot to say about this one. The new Stellar Blade was a pretty hype reveal, but I'm disappointed that it's not following Eve still. I wonder if this is going to be more of a side-game/spin-off and not the actual, true sequel to Stellar Blade, or if they're going the "multiple games with different characters who eventually come together in the final game to take down the big bad of the series" type of deal. Either way, I am still hyped for it because Stellar Blade was absolutely amazing and the combat in this one looks like it's going to be the same or even better than it already was. Getting a release window and some more footage for Lords of the Fallen II was great. Super hyped for the game. While the first game had a bit of a rough launch, the devs really listened to the good feedback and did an amazing job smoothing out the game and making it something very good in the end. I especially loved that they added a built-in Randomizer AND Seamless Co-Op into the game, and I hope they bring that over to the second game. Especially Fromsoft with Elden Ring, there's no reason why Elden Ring shouldn't have both a Randomizer and especially Seamless Co-Op built in (yes, let's make a huge open world game but still keep our shitty 2009 style multiplayer mechanic). Big expectations from LotFII and I cannot wait to play it later this year. Palworld 1.0 is pretty hype. I still have to get the game (it really doesn't help that I don't have any body to play it with at the moment and playing it solo seems kind of meh). Can't wait to see how badly Nintendo tries to throw more empty lawsuits at them to stop Palworld from embarrassing Pokemon even more than it already has. Swords of Legends looks interesting, though I wonder if it's going to have Souls-like elements or be just a straight up action game. In either case, I'm up for it, Chinese devs have been hitting a pretty good spot lately with Black Myth Wukong and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and of course the upcoming Phantom Blade Zero looking pretty great too. It's great to see Korean and Chinese developers starting to rise while a large majority of Western developers do nothing but release pure slop. Wasn't too surprised the final "big" reveal ended up being Part 3 of FFVIIR. Didn't feel much from it though, probably because 1) I've yet to play Remake and Rebirth and 2) It's something we've known was coming so it wasn't like a "OHHHH SHIIIIIIIT" type of reveal that just comes out of absolutely no where. We'll see if I get around to playing Remake and Rebirth by the time this comes out, though I'm probably going to do the same thing I did with the previous two games and just wait until I can find it for $20-$25. Other than the few games I listed though, not much here for me. Extremely underwhelming once again and just an overall waste of time watching it outside of the Stellar Blade reveal. Wonder if the Xbox show case will bring anything worthwhile or if it'll be yet another complete waste of time. SEGA/Atlus have been revealing a lot of their stuff at Xbox showcases for some reason the last few years, so maybe something interesting from them there... or just more boring Sonic slop. One thing I was hoping to see during this week, which we haven't, was a reveal trailer for the upcoming Lies of P sequel. Really want to see what we're in for with it, and if it is going to follow Dorothy like the ending of Lies of P suggested. RE: Summer Game Fest 2026 Summary - Mr EliteL - Jun 6th, 2026 I just about managed to stay up for this, even though I really shouldn't have as I had work at 6am. Although I was multitasking a bit otherwise I would've started to fall asleep, and I was getting disinterested by the halfway point anyway. The main game that caught my eye was TMNT Last Ronin. I've already spoiled myself in what happens story wise but never thought it would be adapted into a video game, so I'll keep an eye on it as more is revealed, though I tend to forget on stuff I'm meant to look out for. Sonic Cross Worlds going into its type of second season, Evangelion was a bit of a surprise, Godzilla kind of less so in a way, because there's no way that would've been a character, but a track feature. A few other things were slightly noteworthy but I may not follow up on being interested in them. |
