That trailer is...something else. Hmm. Looks to be a bit much to fight against too.

I don't fully know about the Ogre connection but I think they're going for there were multiple Ogres route after all, like how it was an ending for Tag 2 Ancient Ogre even if that game is meant to be non-canon. I would rather there'd be a single one, though that shot of a new design for (monster) Ogre briefly, it was white and now makes me hope for that instead, but don't know if they'll go for a large character like that again. Azazel was reduced to Zafina's arm, though I wasn't expecting a full on Azazel return anyway.

If she does have any connection to Ogre I'd love to know why Jin wouldn't put her six feet under the second he meets her, considering he was the one to kill Ogre to avenge his mother. Although he became a good guy in T8's story (which really wasn't earned when the guy started WW3 just to fight a chicken god) he was a good guy in T3 when he took out Ogre too. Meanwhile Born-Again-Heihachi is gonna be rubbing his hands at the prospect of having access to Ogre to some extent again if there is actually any trace of it in Miary.

As for her stick, I wish it didn't have to be some astral thing and was just an actual stick ala Aang from Avatar. I'd rather her thing about learning from the animals being that she watched how they move in the trees and then adapted that with her staff to do fighting moves with, rather than sprouting an astral lemur tail from her arse. The moves were cool, I just don't see why she needed to have fantastical stuff attached to her character other than to just shoehorn Ogre back into the series for cheap fanservice.

Tekken 8 | Season 3 Trailer

Season 3 is on it's way, with a new Season Pass featuring the returns for Kunimitsu, Bob and a returnee last seen in Tag 2, Roger Jr! Plus a fourth character still unrevealed, and a stage.



Kunimitsu will drop for Spring, Bob for Summer, Roger Jr in Autumn, then the final character in Winter.

Also, the tournament circuit Tekken World Tour 2026 will begin in May.

I did watch the TWT Finals today, parts of it then mainly Top 8. I stupidly missed the live portion of the announcement because they ended the stream (on YouTube) as the Top 16 ended, making me think they were going on a break until a little later. I tuned in as Top 8 was live, knowing they must've already shown the trailer, also Harada's final message. I saw that afterwards, it was a funny moment. He got a new t-shirt of his iconic phrase.

Kunimitsu being DLC is whatever, Bob is strange but know some people were happy. Roger return with that illustration, damn. I know Kangaroos can get pretty muscular so good to see that, I guess, just gotta wait for the model.
Still think a Bruce reveal would've been really hyped, but alas. As the last character was a new Tekken character for S2, S3's one could be a guest this time.

I kept forgetting to check out that new trailer, so finally did it.

I'd be very curious to compare a fight between two players from 2025's Tekken World Tour to one between those same two players in the 2026 TWT, with both using the same characters both times. I feel that could potentially highlight how notable the game and balance changes actually are or not, but it would be funny if it ended up making the game look like nothing actually changed with it.

Has Kunimitsu ever removed her mask before? It feels weird to see her face for me because unless I'm mistaken, every masked character in Tekken has never revealed their face. Something about her face feels a little off to me too; I think maybe she looks too young for how long the character has actually been around? She looks barely 30 here.

I know the intro for Bob having a burger with "From the USA" overlayed on it is meant to be more about Bob's size, but I can't help but view it as "You know what people think of when they think about the USA? BURGERS!".

Bandai confirming that even they don't know if Australia is real or not. Totally not questioning if Roger Jr. is from there, nope. Just questioning Australia.
Oh, I should be careful actually. I might attract that one nut who registered one time and claimed we were all racist for not wanting to fly 18+ hours to visit Australia. *sweats nervously*

Do you mean when the patches are done to compare the two players using the same characters? Since the TWT 2025 finished for then in Feb '26, so TWT 2026 hasn't started yet. Depending on how the changes ago, some players may switch away from a character they previously played so it's possible they won't be as trained with the character as when they were using them. A "loyalist" would stick with their character regardless, though not quite sure who were in the Top 8, then again I have forgotten who won let alone who were in the Top 8.

This Kunimitsu is the original's daughter and in T7 her mask could be removed, I just can't remember if it was removed in her trailer back then, so you may not have seen what she looked like, or you skipped it/couldn't remember. Yeah that's why she looks young.

I thought both of those things while watching Bob's trailer.

Most people were expecting Marduk when Australia was being shown, the "?" was meant to throw people off, reactions I saw were seemingly ignoring that bit and continued to expect Marduk. I forgot Marduk was from Australia so I pretty much thought it was going to be a Roger character coming. The way you took it, even as a joke, was great though.

Yeah, I meant if two people who competed against each other in TWT 2025 did so again in TWT 2026, and used the same characters both times, it could be a good way to see what changed in the game that matters at even the highest levels of play.

Also, on that note, I saw an article saying that Tekken 8 is being review bombed again following the Season 3 launch, and my first thought was "What did they do wrong now? It'll be funny if somehow it's the gameplay after they said they were going back to basics after how badly Season 2 messed with it and upset people" and to then see that apparently it's because that statement was a lie and the gameplay is worse than ever is just astounding to me. Yeah I've seeing that Season 3 has had general disapproval from players too, I've not fully grasped in detail. Just prevents me from ever considering to bother to play T8 again at this point, and I haven't really played since Season 1. Seems to be bugs, and poorly made balance choices. They did nerf some of the best characters but at the same time like Law for instance, have been buffed. It's confusing. They've messed with Lee again apparently, I dread to to play him again if I ever do back. A real shame. They've issued an apology, and a quick patch addressing immediate problems, plus more patch changes to come. No clue how well that'll end up, I know many players a very sceptical and/or losing interest.

About Kunimitsu II, it's always been the normal Kunimitsu up until Tag 2, then T7 DLC brought in her daughter. Would've been fine to just have the original Kunimistu return, but Tekken does like have new versions of characters in some way. The many Jacks, King I, King II (to replace the killed King), Armor King (original), Armor King II (brother), Kuma, Kuma II, then Roger and Roger Jr.

Yeah, the apology and future patches isn't going to mean much when the developers have made only bad design choices post-launch, moreso when they said Season 3 would address the issues introduced in the previous two seasons and then instead managed to actually just do the same thing they got criticized for in the previous seasons. The latest patch that came out a week ago seems to have been received positively, but when it seems every good thing they do requires the community to be upset and tell them how they've done something wrong it just reads as though the developers have no clue what they're actually doing. If they don't know how to balance and/or improve the game without constant community backlash/input, then they need to stop pushing changes to the live version and introduce a beta branch or something. Although even then, an established developer working on the 8th mainline entry of a game series shouldn't be doing initial patches that are more bad than good and come off as having no clue what they're working on. I don't expect them to be getting everything right, but I can't think of a game with an online component in an established series with an experienced developer that has fumbled the ball multiple times in a single entry as this game seemingly has.

Yeah it shouldn't take the community to find issues and disapprove on a big scale (many saying they want to quit and such) to realise what they're doing is wrong. *sigh* There should be proper testing, hell they bloody made some players and content creators try the game before T8 released so back then there was at least some input from testers. Season 2 was similar in getting backlash so probably little to no test there, then again for S3. Ah well, it's at least got an acceptable patch but still needs more apparently.

Yeah, so I didn't even realize that Tekken 8 discussion had been going on in the general Tekken thread until now so I've moved all the posts from that thread into this one where they belong. I also blame @Mr EliteL for it happening because he was the one to start Tekken 8 talk in the other thread when he posted the Season 3 trailer.
