Okay, explaining that title. So you've probably heard the phrase "Is this the hill you want to die on?" For when you have an opinion that seems untenable. This topic is for the weirdest ones you have. No need to get political or anything like that; just hills that are absurd or otherwise make no sense, but you will very much stand by that opinion no matter what anyone says.
To start the topic off, I'd like to remind you that the Borderlands movie exists. I'm sorry. But if we ignore the fact that it sucks (we shouldn't, but that's not the point), then I have exactly one problem with the movie: the casting of Patricia Tannis. If you don't know, Patricia Tannis is a scientist that, in the games, is slowly driven insane from isolation after the violent deaths of all her fellow researchers. This is played for comedy, because Borderlands is a comedy so black that light can't escape its gravitational pull anymore! And the casting for her in the movie was Jamie Lee Curtis.
Jamie Lee Curtis has a long and storied career with both horror and comedy. She's the original protagonist of the Halloween franchise, along with some more friendly casting choices like Freaky Friday. She's won several awards for her acting, and she is a great actress. 10/10, no notes. So, for a movie like Borderlands, that kind of pedigree is an inspired choice, and I have exactly one problem with it: her age.
Patricia Tannis in the games is, like, in her 30s or something; I don't know if it's actually established. But Jamie Lee Curtis was 65 when the movie came out. She is the perfect choice for Tannis 20 years ago; if she were younger, 10/10. But, simply because of her age, 9/10, and yes, I will die on this hill. Hell, the only reason I remember that the movie exists is because I will die on the hill that Jamie Lee Curtis is too old for the role!
So, that should give you an idea of the hills I'm looking for: they are silly, stupid, and make no sense to anyone but you, but goddamn it if you don't whole-heartedly believe in them. And if you do disagree with any of the opinions given, please keep the conversation civil. That's rich coming from me, but I don't want this topic to be the start of a flame war.

I will die on that hill with ya.
Whenever I came across an advertisement for that Borderlands film, each time I felt Jamie Lee Curtis was out of place even knowing she is a great actress. Since I was not aware of any lore beforehand, I did learn/confirm to myself one thing from your post, she was playing a character who was originally younger. An easy paycheck still isn't a good reason to go for it either, I suppose they just needed a name in there to push despite the impending flop. I don't doubt she couldn't play the role, though I was never going to watch the film anyway even if it turned out good.
Can't think of one from me yet, there probably is at least a weird one I have, just hidden in my mind somewhere.

A literal example here: Henman Hill, at Wimbledon, will never be anything other than "Henman Hill" to me.
Sometimes, there have been attempts to re-name it after other prominent British tennis players. For example, we had "Murray Mound"; then "Robson Ridge"; then "Konta Contour"; and finally, "Kyle EdMound". And these names range from passable to absolutely atrocious >_< .
