We might be getting World War 3 before we get GTA 6.
So, last weekend, Ukraine decided to launch drone strikes on Russian vessels carrying drone parts in the Caspian. So far, so normal. The problem is they were coming from Iranian ports, carrying Iranian goods, and Iran claims that one of them was a civilian vessel carrying unrelated goods. And now, Iran is very pissed, and is claiming they will retaliate against Ukraine for this. So, now, the Iran War that the US is involved in is threatening to get directly involved with the Ukraine War, which wasn't on my bingo card for 2026, let me tell you!
Now, this isn't exactly out of left field. We've known for some time that Russia has been getting Shahed attack drones from Iran, and Russia has been using them to nonstop bombard Ukraine. We also know that Ukraine, now a top tier drone operator, has been sending defense advisors to the Gulf states to help defend against Iran's strikes against them. So the two wars have been linked, but it's been at arm's length. And now that arm's length is threatening to shorten by a lot. This is bad. Very bad.

Hadn't read this until now nor heard anything about it either, so optimistically I'd like to think nothing of that incident advanced further. However, I don't get why Iran would think it's a good idea to launch a civilian vessel alongside shipping vessels that would be a target for Ukraine.

Time for some news about not news! King Charles' Death Accidentally Announced On Radio, Erring Staff Leaves 16 Minutes Of Dead Air In Panic
Fashion Times Wrote:The station told Ofcom that a staff member was performing routine maintenance on the studio computer when they came across audio files prepared for the day the monarch actually dies. Curiosity got the better of them, and they hit play.
Listeners heard a message announcing that normal programming had been suspended 'as a mark of respect following the passing of His Majesty King Charles III,' followed by the national anthem, then 16 straight minutes of dead air on the station's DAB+ feed.
Once the staff member clocked what they had just done, they panicked and left the building. Apparently this happened back in May, but I never saw anything at the time about this mistake. I want to imagine this played at prime time on a store radio just for the maximum amount of exposure to it.

Well, we know that Iran has been helping Russia pretty much since the beginning of the conflict, so I'm wager a guess that Iran intentionally did that hoping the civilian vessel would get attacked so they could then use that as an excuse to get more directly involved with that war and try to help Russia. Using their own civilians as targets to find reasons to insert themselves into a conflict is definitely not something that would be beyond a country like Iran. Now them doing it while they also have the US blasting them? Probably not the smartest idea, but again, it's Iran, what do you really expect?
