The character I thought might show up would be Amy, but she wouldn't be the one to set up something for the future, maybe just the next movie. So probably another character, perhaps Silver but he's not exactly a villain, just to put simply, someone who crossed paths and briefly had a dispute with Sonic and Shadow in '06 then teamed up with them.

I have nothing else and don't want to ponder too much on it, though I bet it'll be spoiled to me just before or during the film's release anyway.

So no joke, Paramount made a Genesis cartridge for the Sonic 3 movie and sent one to IGN. There isn't much to see from it though; the character screen is just each character in the movie saying a new line we haven't heard in a trailer yet, and the unlock option is just a place to put in the Sonic 3 cheat code to reveal the next trailer drops on November 25. Still, I appreciate the effort put into this even if it ultimately is just an elaborate way of announcing a trailer date.

Nice to see the cringe trailer dialogue make a comeback from the first movie...

1:47 onwards is just "What if Tekken 8 was adapted by Sonic the Hedgehog?", and the moon got Piccolo'd.

As the movie draws closer, they'll want to cater more and more to a broad appeal so it sticks in the mind of everyone to go see, not just the hardcore/already pre-ordered tickets fans.

I didn't find the beginning dialogues as cringe as the rest in the middle. Sonic and his one-liners, man.

So I was bored and wanted to see if the new trailer would help me figure out what the movie might be trying to tell from the games, and my guess is it'll focus mostly on the story of Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2 and it could mean that Black Doom will be the character introduced at the end of the movie to set up future storylines because he has ties to Shadow and Grandpa Robotnik.

Saw the promotional cartridge game (when it was posted about here) before the new trailer, and ah yes they really are using Gerald even though in SA2 he's only in the flashback and nothing else, so wondering what the reason will be for him still being around is, though after re-watching the first trailer I missed the brief second scene of Gerald and Shadow mourning in a burned/destroyed area meaning he survives the attack against them. Anyway, still an unexpected and welcome way of promoting the movie.

New trailer is fine I guess, wasn't as enticing as the first trailer, just a little something before release.

Fourth Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Confirmed
Sega and Paramount have announced that a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie is in development with an expected release date of Spring 2027.

Sonic 3 Post Credit Spoilers / Sonic 4 Villain:
For anyone who doesn't care to know up front who the next villain is, the post credits scene for Sonic 3 reveals it to be Metal Sonic.

Well we already knew a fourth movie was coming so all this does is give us a projected date really. I opted to look up what the post credits scene for Sonic 3 has knowing it's meant to set up a fourth movie, and eh, it seemed interesting until I looked up the character and saw it's just yet another Eggman partner that eventually turns on him.

Assuming you have better knowledge of Sonic than I do, where do you think they're gonna take the story with the next movie based on the ending teaser? I didn't watch the movie yet but did see the ending teaser and in my previous post voiced a concern I have about it, so I'm curious what your view on it is.

I still need to watch the third movie, and even though this trailer dropped a week ago I hadn't seen anything about it until just now by pure chance of it appearing on my YouTube front page.

I still need to watch all three films, I should just get the 3-pack and get them watched, been avoiding clips for 3 outside of the trailers, seen an odd clip of 2 and the first.

So looks like Metal Sonic will be the, or an antagonist this time. Man, wondering how many more are going to be made, just hoping it's not going to turn into an MCU like length, though not having too many different films at the same time obviously.

I doubt they'll make more than this. At least for in-theater production, maybe some direct-to-video, or even continue the TV series (although I can't recall how well Knuckles did...)

Plus, this movie is supposed to suck if it's being titled Sonic 4 <_<

I hoped for just a trilogy, but wasn't sure how 3 ended yet if it set up for this one. 4 should be enough then for the main cinema screen. I didn't pay attention to the Knuckles series either, they could do one more just to finish the live action stuff off perhaps, unless it indeed ends with the 4th movie.

I was going to say the only other villain that could be worth doing is Mephiles, but he does come from...'06, but that's the thing, it could perhaps save that thought of him if they do it well. Then that'll mean bringing in Silver and Blaze, so then it just becomes too much. Mephiles is also basically a Shadow lookalike as he took his form, which in turn Shadow can be viewed as a copy of Sonic, then there's Metal Sonic so it's ending up Sonic fights version of himself once again which may become too boring for some audience. Mephiles did get a return at least in Sonic X Shadow Generations though, so that should be fine leaving him out and no 5th movie.
