Nintendo Direct Announced for March 27
A new Nintendo Direct will be livestreamed tomorrow at 7am PT / 10am ET / 1pm GMT, featuring upcoming Nintendo Switch games and running for approximately 30 minutes. There will be no news or updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.

Metroid Prime 4 is absolutely going to be the big hitter of the show here, given it's likely gonna be the swan song game for the Switch. I can't think right now of what else might show up here though.

...You have my attention, Sega.

I've been intetested in playing this game for a while now, but the prices on the second-hand market are absolutely insane (100 bucks at the low end, though those prices are probably about to absolutely tank, now), and the PS3 emulation is...less than ideal, shall we say? It's bad, is what I'm trying to say. So, to see them reviving this game with a Remaster is a very pleasant surprise. Can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on it.

I haven't watched the whole Direct, but I think the fact we only recently had that Pokémon Presents and Legends Z-A got a new trailer here just further enforces for me that Nintendo doesn't have much left in their hand for the Switch and that it hopefully means they're gonna have a lot for the Switch 2.

The Virtual Game Cards are neat, and sound like they might be a more expansive form of Steam Sharing which is limited to Steam Families, whereas this looks to be allowing digital game loaning to anyone as long as you can do the initial local connection setup for it to work.

Nintendo Today seemed rather whatever to me because I felt like that stuff could just be put onto existing social media sites or even just posted directly onto Nintendo's website so you can view the stuff on it even from a non-mobile device, but with the announcement on it today about the live-action Legend of Zelda movie release date it looks like it'll actually have good content to be worth having it.

Hyped for Monument Valley 3. I loved the first two games and they're superb puzzle games I highly recommend for anyone who wants something chill, unique, and relatively quick to get through. That game will be a day one purchase for me without hesitation.

Happy to see that Mii's are still around because I'd been under the impression Nintendo was kinda just drifting away from them. GIVE US MII STREEPASS ON SWITCH 2 YOU COWARDS! Angry

The Eternal Life of Goldman looks sick! I just watched the trailer for it because a streamer I have on right now was singing praises for its trailer so decided to check it out, and I love the art style! Grin

Looked at the Raidou trailer since @Maniakkid25 pointed it out in their post, and my immediate thought was "Roy Mustang as a Soul Reaper!" once the premise of the game got explained. ROFL I'll assume nobody else can see the spirit things that are with you given the trailer says that nobody else knows you can summon them and immediately shows the player and their summons running through a street of people. Had only came back from work and eating lunch, didn't watch this live and only skimmed through to any sections I found interesting. Which was pretty much the last two, but mostly the Octopath Traveler 0. Saw people saying it's similar to Champions of the Continent, but offline instead. I never really looked into CotC before, other than it had way more than just 8 characters, and still not bothered to check further. Has a playable character customisation though, and you get to recruit the 8 from the original Octopath. Only mildly interested though, as I still need to get back to Octopath 2 and finish or at least get close to the final boss like I did in the original.

The other one, Adventures of Elliot, I just don't have a Switch 2 so I'll let it slide for now, might look at it again if I do snatch up the console.

So an important detail about Octopath Traveler 0 per Square Enix:

Square Enix Wrote:
"It is not possible to upgrade from the Switch version [of Octopath Traveler 0] to the Switch 2 version once purchased. There are also no plans for an option to upgrade to the Switch 2 version in future. Please make sure you purchase the correct version."
I don't....remotely get the point? How can it not be possible? It's even more baffling to have seen comments pointing out that DQ III and FF Tactics both have Switch 1 >> Switch 2 upgrades, but DQ 1+2 and this game don't get any form of upgrade at all. Blink
Better yet, buying the game on PSN gives you both the PS4 and PS5 versions, and buying it from Xbox gets you the Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC versions. Switch is the only one that is an OR situation. Eh? Huh
