UG 20th Anniversary!!

[Mr EliteL]

Yes that's right, another year gone by to make UG's life make it to the big 2-0!

This forum did indeed start back initially in 2006 believe it or not, way back on the old InvisionFree forums, and we had went through two versions of those. IF changed to ZetaBoards which eventually became TapaTalk (yuck!). This net version started in '18 so UG was nearing it's 12th Anniversary then.

This place is still a home to me on this huge wide web, despite not feeling as gleeful as I once was when it started. Life's been challenging, for everyone I know, but still good to come back here every now and then. Really wish I had something big prepped for this, wanted to do something off my own back too. I'm terrible at doing that type of stuff. Not trying to brush it off, really want to celebrate in some way for our forum to reach such a notable milestone.

So very thankful for all the years we've had together, all the old members and newer ones who joined along the way.

Most of us are probably all "Unc" status, boomers and old-timers to the younger gamers, even so we keep riding on despite everything.

If you're meaning the domain, we had that during the ZB days too. I'd call this more the self-hosted/MyBB version of the forum in that case.

As for not having something ready, at least you didn't start a thread about our history on our 15th birthday that has yet to be finished or even updated in any recent time frame.

20 years of Universal Gaming!? 20 years of being the l33test of all gaming?! I cannot believe it been 20 years since we all joined this lil forum that somehow keep on going!!!

Now that we are all old is this the point where we finally make a new forum to complain about the newer games at how non-elite they are and how they play the games from the convenince of their smart device instead of a good old Playstation or Nintendo Switch? As it has been 20 years I think we deserve the right to complain about the young whippersnappers and their Samusung Galaxy Xa41243124312 and their iPhones and their gacha games!!!!! Back in our day we couldn't pay to gain levels we had to earn them right to prove our skill not pay 5.99 for an automatic level to 50! Kids these days all lazy and no work ethic!

Here to the next 20 years where we can then complain about how all the gamers are using AI to play the game for them cause they are just so busy and on the go they can't even sit down to play Mario Pixie Party Tour 66 on their smart nintendo device as Nintendo will have no choice but to start making a phone!!!!

Gee I'm never going to get the shortened lifespan of UG/EGF correct am I? Damn it.

Them and their little devices they play on, on the go whenever they want. When did we ever do that? Never. *pouty folded arms*
Oh wait...
But....they use it to also surf the web with ease, phone whomever, plus many more meaningless distractions, so they aren't paying attention to their game, are they? So what do they know of true gaming roots, huh? *Pounds chest* We do!

Also damn, Nintendo haven't made phone yet? I suppose they've done the next "best" thing and have created apps for phones related to their games.
