Nah, it's a really short demo taking place relatively early in the story. To give you an idea of how short it is, one of the end screens requires beating the demo in under 10 minutes, and that's not that unreasonable. There's also apparently joke dialogue and that sort of thing in the demo, as well, so there's reasons to keep replaying it to try and get all the dialogue. But this is a single-player story-driven game; of course nothing would carry over from the demo.

Also, addressing the part I highlighted, there have been single player game demo's where it's just the literal opening of the game and the ending is where you can pick up from in the full game instead of having to do it all over again, which was what I thought this demo might have been.

Now that I think about it, I think Octopath Traveler did that? But that's literally the only single-player game I can think of that did that. Usually, demos that carry over are multiplayer, with XP and stuff staying kept. Also, given the demo takes place very much in medias res, I don't see why it would retain progression. Maybe I'm just colored by having actually played the demo, so I know what happens in it? *shrug*

You know, I haven't really been thinking about anticipated games for this year. Normally I make a list of them all, but I never got around to that this year. So let's do it now! Although this list is going to be less "anticipated" games and more "these are the games releasing this year that I will get either day 1 or eventually."
Games in red have already released.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon
Mio: Memories in Orbit
Arknights: Endfield
Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined
Nioh 3
Panty Party Perfect
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
Calamity Angels: Special Delivery
WiZmans World
Ys X: Proud Nordics
Utawarerumono Zan 2
Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen (only including this since I caved in and bought one of them)
Tales of Berseria Remastered
Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse
The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince (Steam release, amazing story/puzzle game)
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections
Ariana and the Elder Codex
Mado Monogatari: Fia and the Wondrous Academy (Steam port, have it for console already)
Etrange Overlord
Nekopara Sekai Connect
Mongil: Star Dive
Bunny Garden 2
Neverness to Everness
Utawarerumono: Past and Present Rediscovered
Wandering Sword (PS5 release)
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Cosmos
Echoes of Aincrad
Blue Reflection Quartet
Beast of Reincarnation
Phantom Blade Zero
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter
Unconfirmed Release Dates
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
Birgandine: Abyss
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion
Disgaea Mayhem
Edge of Memories
Halo: Campaign Evolved
HARUKA: Beyond the Stars
Kena: Scars of Kosmora
Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino
Lords of the Fallen II
Mina the Hollower
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
I probably forgot a lot of the indie games scheduled for release on Steam, but this list should be a huge chunk of the games that I'm going to be picking up eventually from this year.
@ Moonface It is normal for a lot of demos of single player games to carry over to the full release. The fact that Pragmata didn't do it is kind of weird if that's the case. Like Nioh 3 did it, a lot of JRPGs with demos the last several years have been doing it.
Like most Square Enix JRPGs do it (Star Ocean 2 R, Octopath Traveler 2 and 0, the slew of recent Dragon Quest games did it I believe), Ys X: Nordics did it, Metaphor: ReFantazio had demo carry over. Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter did it (safe to assume that Second Chapter Remake will do it as well). This is just a very small set of examples I can think right now, ther's many, many more single-player games that do it.
It's really weird that Capcom didn't do it for Pragmata, but then again Capcom isn't known for good demos mostly -- just look at their idea of a demo for Dragon's Dogma 2 (literally just a "hey, you can create your character a few days early, but that's it). Then again, DD2 was ass all around so it not having a good demo wasn't very surprising in hind sight. They probably didn't want people playing the first few hours of the game early, seeing that it was gonna be complete booty and then cancelling pre-orders.
